Great little bar with great service nice atmosphere good food and beer and nice staff 👌
Smooth & Romantic mood. Don't miss live jazz from 9:30 pm to 1am everyday. ~9pm H.H
A character pub which should appeal to most Australians, expats and tourists. A little dark inside with basic but quite adequate, furnishings.Service was very good whithout being "in your face". Food was of a good standard and what you would expect from this type of establishment. Prices were a little high but comparative to local places.
An amazing place with a brunch of singers doing different styles in the same night! Crowded but that’s what a live music place is supposed to be !
Cheap beer and super fun. Although small well worth a visit and super cool Jazz!
Live Band, Jazz music, mainly Australian foods. good burger, good music, good to hang with friends... come earlier if you want a good seat
This place could be super packed during weekend evenings. Younger customers may not know who the notorious Ned Kelly was, or the voice of the marvellous Louis Armstrong; however the energising Dixieland Jazz was not something that people could easily find elsewhere in Hong Kong, and so it drew people who loved big band to come.
The beer was expensive but normal priced for such locations. Same for the food. No entrance fee. The combo started to play from 9:30 pm, played for 30 min and then paused for 30 min throughout the evening. For my taste way to less music. The musicians itself played well, but only one or two guys were top notch (the Sax guy really got me). All the guys had a nice personality and made the evening a nice one.
Good place to rock & drink!
Good pint of Carlsberg for 55 Hong Kong dollars. Just don't sit too close to the stage when the band starts play, it could get pretty loud.
This buzzing back alley jazz bar is timeless and great fun. Sure the beer is good and the simple food is too, but it's the atmosphere and the in-house jazz sextet that makes this place a favorite. It's been here for at least 40 years already (that I know of) and will probably be here for another 40.
Can't resist! Great jazz band in Kowloon
My favorite place in Hong Kong. Legendary place, one band in this bar more over 40 years. Must listen, must see, must eat Chilli con carne and feel Jazz.Probably HK is favorite part my World because I’m found many years ago this Bar in Tsim Sha Tsui.Thank you @Kolin Aitchison and his Jazz
A very nice bar, with live music almost every night of the week.I think this is a very nice escape from busy Hong Kong centre, and an awesome experience for jazz, and music enthousiasts.
The live Jazz music was amazing, good food, good drinks. Definitely recommended for the live Jazz lovers.
Good quality beer and live jazz concert every night
Good music with nice atmosphere. Definitely I will visit this place again.
Great tab beer and live music is provided. Good place to go for couples
Is it a modern “hip” bar? No. But if I want that I’ll go elsewhere. If I want a pub with character, pretty good food, great music, then I come here. The staff is very friendly and punctual. I’ve never ordered anything off the menu that wasn’t good pub food. My go to pub when I’m in Honk Kong.
Good beer and live band
Great food , great people . chat with the drunks at the bar !
Was nice jazz time! But don't expect that much.
Probably the worst burger that I have ever had. High priced, small sized, missing ingredients that the menu advertised, etc. etc.Customer service non existent. As for the live entertainment.....I've seen better singers at the local karaoke pub. Will never go back.
Come for the Band and a few drinks... and perhaps not the food. Nostalgia might have taken over but where else serves a reasonable pint and good live music with no cover charge? Band plays from 9:30 on, the place is packed from 9pm, come early.
I love jazz music. I wanted to go to the one on the peninsula but that location had closed. But I came across this place! There were many foreigners, I felt like I was in a different country. It was a really lively atmosphere, where the musicians and audience can enjoy the music together as one. Usually I like to listen to relaxed jazz, but this kind of interactive performance was new and so much fun. The drinks were ok, reasonably priced, but if you want to have fun, enjoy good music and have drinks, this is the place for you.
Nice and cozy place...
Food was really bland, and the quality of the drinks was rather poor. Even though I ordered a steak, it tasted like something on a kid's menu and most everything tasted unseasoned. Drinks took long enough to be well made but must have been made with some bottom shelf alcohol as it was one of my most disappointing experiences with standard cocktails. However, if you're coming here to grab a beer and chill out with friends to watch a live band play good jazz, this is a good place for that.
Stopped here in a Saturday night. The jazz band were something else. A really talented group of guys. Drinks were cheap, staff were great. Customers were a real mix of locals and tourists.
Dirty and old, but fits the character and the food and drink is good. Don't go to impress, but do go for a decent meal.
Lively, cosey, and great music. A fun night in a jazz bar ... cheers mate
Cool place to visit.
A must go place in HK! Especially jazz lovers!
Chill and fantastic place for gatheringMesmerising jazz bar in HK =)
Nice and quiet place for lunch
Very quite in here and a rubbish atmosphere
Best bar on the planet, great, super amazing house band
This place had an awesome band playing some real nice music the day I was here . It's one of the older pubs in the city. Great vibe to the place. Must drop in
Quaint little pub with a jazz theme would you believe
Great time and wonderful food. The energy in the building is positively fantastic. You will not be disappointed.
I spent my first night out in Hong Kong here back in 1988 before venturing into the hinterlands of China on some misguided youthful, backpacking adventure. It was a wonderful way to start the trip. And not much has changed 30 years later. A bunch of friendly expats in the back bar tell gruesome and hilarious tales of errant nights out while the swing band churns out foot tapping delights punctuated by the sardonic wit of the bandleader, whose North-East accent lingers despite a lifetime out here. Ir;'s a great place to come in TST, have a beer and some OK food, listen to a 16 piece band and retire with old standards and Hong Kong tales ringing in your ears.
Good atmosphere, average food and drinks, poor service
This is a great place for live jazz music. Good atmosphere that makes you feel as though you’re in a saloon. However, the food leaves much to be desired. I got the chili burger which was incredibly dry and inadequately flavored. The chili to burger patty ratio was pitiful and the chili was barely seen on the burger. Everything about the meal was to the “bare minimum”— the chili, chips, even the diced red onion. I ended up cutting the patty in half because it was so dry. Next time, I would probably eat somewhere else and come to Ned’s solely for drinks and entertainment.
If u r in hong kong do visit you would love the place after 9.30 pm and Jazz lover its a must visit
I was here over 20 years ago and it literally hasn’t changed or possibly cleaned on that time!! We had food and the sirloin steak was more like a ropey bit of rump and don’t bother to say how you’d like it cooked because it won’t matter. The fish and chips looked great, the batter was lovely and crispy, shame the fish inside was watery, textureless and tasteless. Went for old times sake, won’t ever go again!!!’
Ned Kelleys is the must goto pub in Hong Kong. This tiny pub has one of the best Trad Jazz bands you will hear on the planet>
Come here for the music in Christmas. Nice atmosphere. Definitely Good Jazz start at 9:30pm. But the place is small so it is hard to move arround or leave your seat. We had homemade fish finger with salad & chips, Chicken & chips, Beef pie & chips. I like the fish finger most, and I don't like the beef pie crust it is too soaky. We spent HKD200 per person during Christmas night. The food is not bad but overpriced. I will come back for the music.
Nice music, and the atmosphere is great
Great live jazz band every night! The music won't disappoint and the drink selection is decent. Didn't try the food but it looks like standard American fare.
One of the best places for live music in Hong Kong
Long standing pub in TST with live jazz. Just went for the first time and will definitely return. Long drinks menu of basic cocktails, beer, and a few wines. Short food menu, mainly standard pub fare. Pricey, but in line with the neighborhood and well worth it considering there is no cover charge.
